The Community

 

This friendly, family oriented community located 10 minutes north of Deep Cove by boat or a 30 minute drive by 4X4 to Newport Village, through Buntzen Lake Park, offers the best the west coast has to offer. Spectacular views, mountain hiking, swimming, kayaking and fishing are at your finger tips.

 

There are a number of year-round residents as well as several recreational properties. The residents of not just Buntzen Bay, but all of Indian Arm, are a great community living in a unique setting. Families in the bay have school aged children attending schools in Anmore and North Vancouver. Events for residents "Up the Arm" include the rubber duck race at easter, a July BBQ and a number of others.

 

Unlike many other communities on Indian Arm, Buntzen Bay has both Hydro and phone service. Most cell phone networks also work well.

 

Homes in the community each have their own water service fed from fresh mountain springs and adequate for the year.

 

The area has a wide variety of animal life from otters and seals to deer and the rare cougar. The bay has been designated a rock fish conservation area. Crabs can be caught from the dock and  prawns are only a short paddle away.
